Message from the Commodore:
Welcome to Davey’s Bay Yacht Club! Founded in 1909, DBYC has been part of the Davey’s Bay and Mount Eliza community for more than a century. Today, we remain a friendly, member-based club where people of all ages can enjoy sailing, recreation and time together by the water. Our spectacular location on the shores of Port Phillip Bay provides a wonderful setting for sailing, learning new skills, meeting people and becoming part of a welcoming community. Junior, youth and adult sailing programs run on Friday evenings and Sundays throughout the sailing season, catering for all levels of experience, from complete beginners through to experienced and competitive sailors. Sunday afternoons also feature off-the-beach and keelboat racing. The boat classes sailed at DBYC include Optimist, Pacer, 420, ILCA, Finn and our sports keelboat, the enigmatic Flying 15. We also have facilities for sailboarding, SUPs and kayaks. DBYC is proudly supported by a committed community of members and volunteers, with many opportunities to sail, socialise, help on the water and contribute to Club life. "The Jewel on the Bay"
Situated at Mount Eliza, just 45 minutes from the Melbourne CBD, Davey's Bay is one of the oldest Yacht Clubs in the state. Davey's Bay celebrated her centenary in 2009, and goes into her second century with a newly renovated and extended clubhouse.
Although small, Davey's Bay has produced, State, National and World champions, as well as three Olympians.
