Davey's Bay Yacht Club offers a wide range of sailing courses for all ages and abilities. From adult beginner courses to junior programs to advanced level coaching, we've got something for you!

​Courses are run on set dates and typically in groups with up to six participants. If you would like a 1:1 course or the dates we have available​ do not work for you please reach out to [email protected].

Adult Learn to Sail

We are currently offering the Start Sailing 1 and Start Sailing 2 courses. 

Start Sailing 1 introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology, equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Start Sailing 2 is the next step, which provides the necessary groundwork to independently get sailing and covers important safety points such as completing "man-overboard" recoveries.

Powerboat Courses

A great course to learn the practical side of boat handling in a RIB, also a requirement for achieving a Dinghy or Windsurf instructor qualification.
We are running a Powerboat Handling course, scheduled in for 8th February 2025. There will also be an additional evening for theory in the week prior (date tbc).
